We recognize it is important to live out our faith in the community with those around us and around the world.  We have considerable resources dedicated to our community's social programs and missional programs, as an extension of our faith in Jesus to the world.

Community Life:

  • We work with FACETS (Fairfax Area Churches Emergency and Transitional Services) to feed the homeless of Fairfax (Usually the third Thursday of the month). We provide a Hypothermia Shelter for Fairfax Homeless for one week during the winter.
  • Bethlehem and our congregation also supports a family escaping domestic abuse through NOVACO (Northern Virginia Coalition)/Shelter House.
  • Bethlehem supports the Lamb Center for homeless adults with donations of supplies and ministry services.
  • Bethlehem is an active member of FISH (For Immediate Sympathetic Help) providing food for the food bank and coordinating transportation services.

  • We are responsive to the tragedies in the world usually through Lutheran Disaster Relief (LDR).
  • We actively support the ELCA World Hunger Program and the ELCA Malaria Campaign, Lutheran Social Services, Fellowship Square, and Gifts of Hope.
  • As local and national emergency needs arise, Bethlehem helps meet the need through hands-on support and donations.

We seek to discover the presence of God in each other, celebrate the personalities and gifts we have, and share those gifts with others.  This is how we view ministry.  So we look inside, outside, and worldwide for ways that we can contribute to the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ.   We do that humbly and joyfully.  We do that sharing the grace in our hearts that God has given to us first, then, we seek to share it with all others.

If there is any ministry that interests you or that you would like to foster, please let us know.  We are always willing to talk about ministry and ways we can spread the love and grace of Jesus Christ.
