Bethlehem Lutheran Church offers a wide variety of educational opportunities to guide learners in their journey, ranging from traditional classroom discussions, video classes, Alpha Classes, book groups, retreats, workshops, and more. We under the hectic schedules that many people face, and strive to offer opportunities both on weekdays and weekends, days and evenings.
Explores different topics through videos and discussion, including videos such as "The Passion" and "Jesus of Nazareth". Each session has a 30-minute video, followed by discussion. All are invited to attend, regardless of whether you have attended other sessions. Class meets in the Parlor on Sundays at 9:45 a.m.
Provides an in-depth study of the Bible through reading and discussion. Class meets in Room 109 on Sundays at 9:45 a.m.
The Sunday evening Small Group selects a book to read and discussion, including books such as Dietrich Bonhoeffer's "Cost of Discipleship" and "Cries of the Heart" by Rava Zacharias. This group meets Sunday evenings.
The weekday afternoon book group meets at the church
on the first Thursday afternoon of the month to share book discussion with lunch. Book selections include titles such as "If You Want to Walk on Water, You've Got to Get Out of the Boat" by John Ortberg and "The Christ of Easter" by Calvin Miller.
Meets periodically through the year, using tools such as the Beth Moore's Bible Study series. Meets at the church, evenings and times chosen by participants.
Alpha, a 10 session meal and program designed to help people explore questions of faith in a non-threatening presentation and discussion format, is offered periodically at the church.
The BLC Women's Group offers Bible Study as part of the monthly circle meetings.
Your child is invited to join our Children's Learning Hour any or every Sunday from mid September to mid-May. Our Sunday School program, Expedition DCS! uses multimedia workshops to guide our children through a fun, exciting Expedition to Discover, Celebrate, and Share.
for toddlers (18 months - two years old) celebrates that children come to class enthusiastically with a strong yearning to learn more about God and Jesus. We offer a special class called where our youngest students learn through special toys and songs designed especially for them.
is available for children aged 3
through 2nd grade, is part of our regular 11:00am worship service. Children attend service for 15 minutes, then are invited to attend a special class for remainder of the church service. This is provided only as an option - children are always welcome at our worship services.
provides a study of the Old & New Testaments as well as a study of the Lutheran church and life as a member of the community of Christ. Classes are designed to stimulate discussions, and offer hands-on action opportunities for learning.
Our high school youth group assists in the worship service, provides special music to the service, works on mission projects and enjoys social outings.
are presented at the worship services each Sunday where children are invited to hear and participate in a message crafted especially for them.
Each year Bethlehem offers a weeklong Vacation Bible School, packed full of music, crafts, games and fun to guide children through a Bible adventure.
